It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…..

Hello friends!

With apologies to Charles Dickens, let’s just say that since my last post I’ve had some great times and some less than great times. The first chemo didn’t work on my tumors and some others appeared almost overnight. I was in pain and mom and dad were really scared. Dr. Moore put me back on steroids and we went with Palladia – a drug that’s given every other day.

My people were giving me steroids, Benedryl, my usual thyroid medicine, – all that – something every morning and evening. I have to say, I was a great sport for many months. I knew they were hiding the stuff in pill pockets, cheese, canned dog food (YUM!), meat – everything that’s possible. So that is to say that after our initial scare, the holidays were good. Here I am with my family….see for yourself!

Maggie was home from Brooklyn and she gave me lots of love!

Since the New Year, things have been getting harder. I’m losing weight – just not so interested in food. I don’t turn in circles when mom and dad come home – I don’t have the energy. I’m also about finished with pills. Seriously. Done. As a Texan, I would say that I’ve drawn a line in the sand.

Anyway, it’s Super Bowl weekend! We’ll be spending some quality time watching the commercials. I have previewed this year’s Budweiser commercial. Spoiler alert! Dog people will enjoy!

Happy Day!

  1. Carter Mobley…..been wondering avout you! You know everytime I see your picture it just melts my heart!

And we all want to come snuggle withyou on the sofa! You always look so comfy

My favorite picture though is your “man to man talk” with your Dad. Love that!

I still haven’t been able to click onto the video in oneof your precious links…said “can’t play video” or some kind of “crappola” like that. I have a tablet and tablets just don’t do everything real computers do!

Really sorry you aren’t feeling real “chipper”. Of course, you’ve probably learned you don’t have to get up and “greet” everyone and expend all that energy when they’ll all come straight to you and you can just lay there and get tummy rubs!

Carter Mobley, you are a very, very loved pup, but I think you already know that. As Texan, you knw to just take it one day at a tme and enjoy living in the now, not worrying about a thing! You’ll let NOTHING rob you of your time together or interfere with soakng up all that love!

Tell your mom and dad to post more pics of you. We love seeing that cute mug of yours! That Budweiser puppy…..was that you when you were a baby? Yeah, I saw that commercial too! The Budweiser people make THE best Super Bowl commercials!

Enjoy your snuggles and “game day”! You’re our winner! Touchdown Team Mobley!!

Sending lots and lots of hugs and love to all…..Texas size hugs!!

    Sally and Happy Hannah

  2. Hey Carter!! Glad to hear from you! I know taking pills can be a big drag! It’s tough. But I say you’ve done pretty darn well for quite awhile. I think you should just take things easy this weekend, and not worry about any of that cancer stuff. Just be with your Mom & Dad. That’s all that matters. You are a Great Dog, Carter Mobley! I’ll be thinking about you!
